When I founded DecisionOne, I wanted the name to define what we do. Decision is characterized by the fact that negotiations are composed of a decision or a series of decisions linked by implementation and activities. Decisions set the pace and direction; the rest is basically follow-through. Given the primacy of decisions, an organization can compete and excel only if it consistently makes good decisions – or at least, better decisions than its rivals. One is characterized as unity; collaborating, undivided, an accord. An integrative negotiation or interest-based bargaining, is a negotiation strategy in which parties collaborate to find a "win-win" solution to their dispute. This strategy focuses on developing mutually beneficial agreements based on the interests of the parties. Interests include the needs, desires, concerns, and fears important to each side. These are the key underlying reasons that can make or break a negotiation. We specialize in negotiations. Whether serving as a MLBPA representative, a mediator, an arbitrator or a special consultant - reaching an agreement that meets the best interest of our clients is our priority. Our negotiation style is based on the integrative model. An integrative approach involves creating and claiming value and is considered a win-win situation for all. This is the best negotiatiion approach to use when there will be an on-going relationship between the parties involved - such as professional baseball player and the organization, an employee and their employer, and a person within a family.
